I have been using FP 03 for q while now and this has never happened. I go to
a site click the FP icon in the browser and it usually opens the site and
prompts me to log in. Now its just openeing the page with a [1] after it in
my temp files folder.....que pasa? It must be something local on my machine
because I try it from my work cpu and it still works fine...ergo, its not a
server side issue......any ideas?

1) In Windows Explorer Find and delete all FP Temp Files
- in FP 2003 you need to look in the super hidden folder
%USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\FrontPageTempDir
2) In Windows Explorer Find and delete all hidden *.web files
Usually in %USERPROFILE%\Application Data\Microsoft\Web Server Extensions\Cache

Then use File Open Site (not file open page)

I tried that and found the .web files but never found that 'super hidden
folder' I did however delete all the temp internet files at the below addy

Temp/Temporary Internet Files/Content.IE5/
There was nothing else in:
Temp/Temporary Internet Files/

also went into :
Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files

and deleted everything in there (no secret FP folder there either)

If I open FP then go to Open site it works fine as I pick them from my
network places. Its the function of opening it from an IE window that seems
to have crapped out and that what I use the most to save time.

I continues to open any file I hit the edit button in IE as a temp file with
the [1] after it in this directory

Local Settings\Temp\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5

Go to START - RUN - type in %temp%

Delete everything you can. Usually a couple of files that are in use it
won't let you delete.

Didnt work, I have been there before trying to delete items. Ther is an 8meg
index.dat file I cant seem to move. It appears that if there is a temp
folder with the webpage data in it , it opens that folder opposed to going to
the server. For instance, say I open a FP website, then go clean the cache,
and hit the FP icon in IE, it will well me it cant open the webpage via the
desktop or temp file but makes no attempt to hit the server.
