Frontpage publishinh problem

M

Mike Tyler

Wen I try publishing my web to a remote server, after
several minutes, I get a not responding message on the
Frontpage title bar. My machine is then seriously
locked up. My cursor will hardly respond. I often get a
message saying I've run out of virtual memory (I have
half a gig of ram). It takes me 10 minutes just to close
the application. I usually have to reboot.

I can publish the same web to a mirror server account
with no problems.

I've reinstalled FrontPage on my machine. I've even
reinstalled the OS.
My server admin has reinstalled all the Frontpage stuff
(server extensions, etc) on the server. There's nothing
there now but default stuff. Its a linux server.
I'm running XP.

Then the problem is not your local machine, but the original server that you
are attempting to publish to. Have you contacted the host for this server
and ask them to check the extensions and/or the permissions for your
account?

Virtual memory is a computer issue, but has nothing to do with RAM.
Your machine is telling you it has run out of space
for the paging file ( 2K and XP ) or the swap file ( 9X ME )
Dump, your internet cache files ( temporary internet files )
and your FrontPage temp files.
