Frontpage quit working

FrontPage 2000 has quit working on my computer (running
Windows 98 on this computer and it has worked for years
just fine) It locks up my system so only a 3 finger
salute works.I uninstalled Frontpage through the control
panel and re-installed. I get an "Error 1904" In
checking the Microsoft site and using that error, I found
a "fix" Supposedly the MDAK was corrupt (I still don't
know what that is, but..) Following MS's directions, I
found the version I needed (they provided a checker
program that supposedly told me what I needed), downloaded
and installed it, and now I get more error notes. This
one says that the "MDAK file was not compiled for a CPU
that is compatible with this version of Windows" and to
contact my vendor. My computer is 4 years old and not
covered by any vendor any longer.

I don't even know where to beging trying to fix FrontPage
any longer. If anyone has any suggestions??
Regards,
Barbara

Have you tried the > Edit > Find > search on repair? This may work for you
if you are having problems.

Have you tried the usual repairs

1) In Windows Explorer Find and delete all FP Temp Files
2) In Windows Explorer Find and delete all hidden *.web files
3) In Windows Explorer Find and delete the file CMDUI.PRF
4) Disable or Uninstall any FP Addins
5) Run a Repair / Reinstall on FP
6) Install all MSO Service packs

Have you updated all your applications and OS? Service packs address common
bugs or security flaws in released software. Although they sometimes
introduce new (albeit minor) problems themselves, they are not likely to
harm your computer system.

Office updates are available from www.officeupdate.com
Windows updates from www.windowsupdate.com
