Frontpage Server Extensions and Forms

I run an Intranet in my office and have started using
Frontpage 2002. The problem is when i go to create a
form in FP and then i try it out by submitting it i
get "FrontPage Run-Time Component Page
You have submitted a form or followed a link to a page
that requires a web server and the FrontPage Server
Extensions to function properly.

This form or other FrontPage component will work
correctly if you publish this web to a web server that
has the FrontPage Server Extensions installed.

Click the <Back> arrow to return to the previous page."

I have downloaded and installed Server Extension2002 and
my server is running WinXp Pro and i am running IIS 5.1
on this server. When i do a Properties on "Default Web
Site" i see both a Server Extension tab and a Server
Extensions 2002 tab. I cannot figure this out. Why am i
getting this message? Do i have to configure the
extensions somehow? I have the results of the form going
to anohter htm page i am calling 'formlog.htm' which i
plan to post on the same page as the form itself.

Funny thing is if i create a form in FP98, i dont get
these errors, but i want to use FP2002
thanks

You probbly installed the FrontPage 2000 Server
Extensions with IIS, and then installed the FrontPage
2002 Extensions. This results in two sets of tabs in IIS
Manager: one for each version if the extensions.

This is a common situation, and a harmless one.
Do i have to configure the extensions somehow?

Yes:
1. Browse http://127.0.0.1/_sharepoint/.
2. Click the Administration like at the right of your Web
server.
3. Click Upgrade virtual server with FrontPage Server
Extensions 2002.
I have the results of the form going to anohter htm page
i am calling 'formlog.htm' which i
plan to post on the same page as the form itself.

I suspect you're browsing your form from a disk location.
This bypasses the FrontPage server extensions. You should
always open your Web site with an http:// url, and test
it that way as well.

We are running a Windows 2000 web server and I did the
same thing going through the Internet Services manager and
configured the root web server (top of the tree) with the
2002 server extensions. Like the gentlemen above, I also
had 2000 server extensions installed.

i publish the form and the same problem still exists.

got any ideas?

thanks,

I just answered my own question. After I updated the 2002
server extensions, I had to re-publish for search form.
Then all seems to work well. Even on the subwebs. My
pages are done with frames (which I am finding out is not
that desirable but they did easily give me the layout I
needed) and the searches find pages but are not accessed
in the framed environment (if that makes sense).

thanks for the help
