Frontpage table re-sizing problem

M

Mary

I'm a bit of a newbie to this....

I have made a web site on my desktop which works great. Most of the
pages use tables which have text or photos in the cells.

When I look at it on my laptop which has a smaller resolution all the
cells are re-sized and the photos too close together etc.

How can I fix the width of the cells so that they stay the same no
matter what resolution the screen is. I don't mind if a scroll bar is
needed on a low res screen.

I am using Frontpage 2002

I have the same problem (Fp2003) and I am curious if you found the
solution.

Tables can be a pain. Just add some additional empty columns to them.
Also, if you are trying to drag and drop to widen them, start with the
right-most column first. I'm no expert, but have used these techniques
and they work for me.

Hi Mary;

View the table or cell properties by right-clicking on the cell or table and
clicking on Cell Properties or Table Properties.

Uncheck [ ] Specify Width or [ ] Specify Height or both depending on wether
you are trying to adjust cell width, height or both.

OK out of the properties window.

You should now be able to resize the cells as needed. A couple of notes
here:

1. Adjusting the height (vertical size) of a cell will identically adjust
all cells on the same row (to the left and right).

2. Adjusting the width (horizontal size) of a cell will identically adjust
all cells in the same column (above and below).

3. If the cell you are adjusting, or any of the co-adjusted cells (see 1.
and 2. above) contain objects such as pictures, the cells will adjust to the
point where the object meets the cell border. If you want to make the row or
column narrower the an object contained in one of the cells, resize the
object using your mouse and you will be able to rezise the cell/row/column
to the smaller size.
