Hi, is it possible to design a pretty descent dynamic websites that is
portable in Frontpage. I was thinking of using PHP/MySQL/JavaScript/CSS.
Perhaps if anyone seen any examples on the net, please post it to this
newsgroup.

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Well, ASP and VBScript are web standard scripting language and was in use
before PHP.

However, you can easily accomplish what you want using FP.

Thanks Thomas. You are absolutely right, ASP and VBScript has been around
before PHP. Its just I have a requirement to build identical dynamic web
sites on both Windows and Linux platform.

Since there are many good tools in Windows platform, and the client happen
to own Office 2003 Professional, Frontpage would be a good pick for me to
start, isn't it?

Any pointer how would I start designing/building the websites with
Frontpage?

Thanks

Just out of curiosity....
Why would someone want to have 2 identical websites 1 on Windows and 1 on
linux?

I will not ask why, but I am interested in why...

However, are you starting from scratch or does the site already exist on one
of these platforms?

It's the client wishes for portability.

How does that solve portability, as there are many host available to choose
from, if the need arises where switching host is a requirement.

Each host configures their server's differently, and especially under
Unix/Linux the servers may not have the same version of the OS and/or
applications/modules needed.

At least using ASP/VBScript the chances are better when moving between
Windows 2000 / 2003 server to have the site/application up and running
within an hour of publishing.
