frontpage98 Question on "explorer".

HI, and yep! I'm still using FP98, anyway~~~ the Question.. and I
must admit I'v rarely if ever felt the need to make use the "FP
explorer" portion of the program, however - having just created a
rather large site, almost complete, I'd like to be able to view it in
"explorer" and get that graphical view of the hyperlinks etc etc ..
could make things a whole lot easier for checking it all. ~But How?
how do you direct it to open a web "site" on your PC? It should and
probably IS relatively simple ~ but then even the simplest of tasks is
only simple once you'v seen how to do it! sooooo one or two pointers
in the right dirction would be so appreciated :)
thanks.

do you mean preview? click the preview tab at the foot of the page....or from
file menu choose preview in browser (and choose your browser).

nonononno :)
what I mean is the "Frontpage Explorer" where you can get a graphical
view of the site created, al the links etc etc to check them out, I'v
really never made use of it, I'v created the site in the FP Editor,
never made use of the fpexplorer view, now that the site is almost
complete I'v thinking it'd be nice to see the pf exporer view to check
it over.
One thing that does annoy me, and one reason for trying to view this
wayt, is that although I can open the site in the browser and it all
looks good.. when I transfer the site from one pc to another - even
take it with me on a usb memory stick, when I open it up anywhere
else I'm seeing two or three graphics not showing up , and have to
reset them in place - thought if I viewed it in FPExplorer,
"navigation" "hyperlink" views it might reveal where things are not
quite 100%.
anyway... yep it's the old FP98Explorer I'm on about. not preview or
browser.
Appreciate the replies, thanks :)
I just don't see a way to open an already made site, in FPExplorer.
eg.. the "open" - "new" "folder", - "folder" is greyed out and not
clickable!!

First of all, FP98 was never designed to be used as two separate components, Editor and Explorer.
The correct way to have worked with FP98, was to have open the web in FPExplorer, then click on a
page or start FPEditor to create pages within a web. Also FP98 was designed to be used with the
Personal Web Server, not disk-based webs.

To move a FP web, no matter which version, is to use the File Menu | Publish Web / Site function.

By always working in FPExplorer, all of your web content would be treated as a single web with
relative hyperlink between pages and images, etc.

Since you didn't use FPExplorer, you don't have a navigation view. You would have to build one.
