Frozen Up

I would love to attribute this problem to the cold weather, although it has no connection

I installed Office 2000 in my computer and I’m able to open Excel, Access, PowerPoint & Outlook – When I open up Word, my computer freezes on the Word splash screen and if I Ctrl+Alt+Delete it’s still frozen and I have to shut off the power

Has anyone ever had this problem – If so what do I do
I uninstalled it and reinstalled it – I even attempted to repair the problem through the installation – Nothing works – HELP I have homework to do
