Frozen/Very Slow Portfolio Analyzer Views

Hi. We are running MSP 2003 Server, Pro 2003.

We have an issue where certain views in Portfolio Analyzer are now very slow
loading or not at all. This was not the case for these until just recently.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks,

here are some typical reasons why the views can become slow

The view have calculated members ( this means they are calculated on the fly
hence the reason for sluggishness)

The view displayes a hugh amount of rows and columns ( the data needs to be
transfered via your LAN, depending on the speed of the LAN this can take some
time. This would also explain why some views are fast and others take a while)

Hope this helps

My guess is that you have added a project recently that has a very long
duration - perhaps a few years. That being the case your cubes are probably
taking longer to build as well as query.

If that is indeed the issue, you can reduce the size of the cube by
adjusting the time range in the cube build settings Make it a tighter range
and you should see a performance improvement.
