In one of my workbooks, a sheet includes multiple references to cells in
another workbook. These links were created by simply entering = and then
clicking on the appropriate cell in the other workbook. My problem arises
when sending these files for other folks to review in that Excel will append
the full file name path in the cell. As an example:
='[Northeast.xls]Dashboard'!$D$21
becomes
='C:\Documents and Settings\dlipetz\My
Documents\Sales\[Northeast.xls]Dashboard'!D$21
I know that I can instruct people to use Links/Change Source to fix this,
but it would be much easier if I could instruct Excel to ignore the path and
just look in the current directory (or even just opened Excel files) for
these cells.
Am I missing something?
Thanks in advance.
