FTP photo files outside of FP

I'm using FP-2000 w/extensions. I've read the posting titled "Publishing
question" dated 5/17 but I had no luck with my host tech help on creating a
subweb. Is a subweb on a host the same thing the tech help was referring to
as a subdomain in our on-line chat? I haven't created a subweb on my local
but I should be able to get through that with the FP help.

The host tech help has said to create a directory under "Public" and FTP the
photo there. I already have subdirectories under Public and I know FP will
perform the desired change management on these subdirectories as well so I
don't think this is the solution for FTP.

What can I tell my host tech help so they will understand what is meant by
subweb?

Thanks
Jim T.

sub web and sub domain are two completely different things. A "domain"
would be www.mysite.com a "sub domain" would be sales.mysite.com ( where
"sales" or something else replaces the www). A sub web is a virtual
directory in your web (a web inside of a web). To create on just create a
new folder in your root web, right-click on it and choose convert to web.
For your ISP to do this they would convert a folder in your web to a virtual
directory / site.

Your ISP should know what a sub web is. If they don't I'd be concerned
about what else they don't know.
