Full task path in Resource usage view

Omri

I need to manage resources by tasks. In order to do so I need to view each
task per user. When viewing the "resource usage" view - I need to see the
full path of the task, not only the bottom level task, e.g. all summary tasks
above. Any idea how to do so?

Thanks

Omri

You cannot display the complete WBS (full path of the task) for the task
assignments shown for each resource on the Resource Usage view. The best
you can do is to insert the Project column and the Task Summary Name column
to get a little more information about each task assignment. In the
Resource Usage view, the system displays complete information about every
resource, but only limited information for each task assignment.
Conversely, in the Task Usage view, the system shows complete information
for every task (including the full WBS), but only limited information about
each resource assignment. You are seeing the default behavior of these two
assignment Views. Hope this helps.

Thanks for your help. This is a critical feature for me, without it I will
have to look for a different software. I was told it may be done with
programming, do you know about a forum I can check the issue?

Thanks,

Yes, this could probably be done using a macro written in VBA. Post your
question in the microsoft.public.project.developer newsgroup and perhaps the
software developers can assist you. Hope this helps.

Omri,

You may be able to get a good start on your question by combining
two macros that Jack Dahlgren has made available on his site. See
http://masamiki.com/project/macros.htm

and look for the "Summary Name" and "Copy Task Field" macros.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.
