Full version disk acts like upgrade disk

I am trying to install Office 97 on a new computer. I
know my Office 97 disk is the full version as I used it
to install office 97 on an older machine; however, every
time I try to install Office 97 on my new computer I get
a message about needing qualifying products to install
Office. Does anyone know why my Office 97 disk would
behave like an upgrade disk? What do I have to do to get
OFfice to install on my new machine?
