Function for counting chars in a cell

Is there a function for counting the number of characters
within a cell?

I have searched everywhere.

Can some one help?

Neil,

That is one annoying splash screen on your website. IMO, you would do well
to go directly to that Welcome page, which is a nice clean, uncluttered
page, and ditch that animated horror.
