I would highly recommend updating your system with the latest service pack
(available from the above link). If you have Auto-Update enabled, it might
be a weekish before you are trickled down with the 270mb download.

I have installed on 5 systems so far, and it has been running just fine!

Hi (e-mail address removed) ([email protected]),
in the newsgroups
you posted:

|| 270 mb download??? How are us mere mortals with dial up connections
|| supposed to live long enuff for that? What is this huge service
|| pack about? Sounds like the entire operating system and then some.

August 25th you can order a free CD from Microsoft shipped free to your
home.

What backward country do you live in? EVERYBODY today has either ADSL, ADSL
Wireless, DSL, satellite or cable.
Surely there is not anybody left on dial-up anymore in the western world.

I got it downloaded and it's running smoothly on my 4½ year old computer.
It's a P3-550 with 384 MB RAM. No problems. Took about an hour'ish to
download and install but part of that can be attributed to the processor
speed.

JoAnn that computer of yours should be in tip - years ago.
How could anybody use such an old piece of gear.
We don't even have less than 1.0Ghz computers in our free access points.

Get your head out of the clouds, not everyone has or can get anything but
dial-up.

downloaded last night onto home edition. there were several issues that were
obviously repaired and an apparent improvement in overall performance.

How lovely for you. Not everyone can afford buying new computers every year.
Since my computer isn't used for anything critical, I have the older one.
Keith has the newer one because he often does work on it.

Hell where do you live it is so backward. If you cannot get cable or DSL
you should be able to get 144kbps on CDMA X1 mobile telephone.
Are you living in Iraq???

All one in the same. You could wait until it's on Windows Update in about a
week if you like though. However, the more secure you are now, the better
:)
