GAL access broken by 12.2.0 update

Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard)
Processor: Intel
Email Client: Exchange

Before 12.2.0, (12.1.5, actually), I am able to access the GAL and get automated filling of To: fields, etc. The GAL is accessed via an LDAP server. It's a fairly simple setup, involving only filling in my LDAP server (as a FQDN), and the only checked option is "This server requires me to login."

After 12.2.0, this functionality is broken. All settings remain the same, but there appears to be no connection happening.

I don't have anything else to go on. Changing settings didn't affect the dysfunction, and I wouldn't have thought that I should have to change anything--it just should have kept working. I seem to recall that I gave it an IP address instead of the FQDN, but that didn't change anything.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Bill

Accessing the GAL is still working for me in 12.2.0 and 12.2.1.

The GAL is only accessible on your company network and not outside your
company network, such as at home.

Are you sure the address hasn't changed? Can you use the Network Utility
in /Applications/Utilities to ping the LDAP server address?

The LDAP server must also be a special domain controller called a Global
Catalog server. Has this server service possibly been moved? Do you have
another global catalog server available in your network?

I guess I should have been more specific in the initial posting:

I am able to access the GAL in 12.1.5. I am inside the company-wide network.

After upgrading to 12.2.0, and then 12.2.1, I was no longer able to access the GAL. I am still inside the company-wide network. So I downgraded to 12.2.0 and it worked again.

But this morning, I just tried it again, and it works... I have no idea why!

Whew!

Sorry for the false alarm. I don't have a clue on this one.
