Gallery caption won't "take"

D

David Kirk

I'm adding a photo with caption to the gallery at
http://www.gayrites.net/gallery.htm and the photo caption for the second
thumnail (black and white) refuses to "take." Whwther I type it new or cut
and paste the text, every time I add the text, it does not appear with the
thumbnail and, when I edit the gallery, the text has disappeared from the
editing dialogue as well. Help?

David Kirk

Well ... errr ... uh ... thanks, I think. Do you have any idea why the FP
component is giving me trouble if I decide not to buy another program?

I know FP can be a pain but I'm interested in hearing responses to my actual
question. Why is text not "taking" for this one particular photo when it has
worked reliably for all of the others?

Because FPs galleries can be quirky, but for the gallery you are using you
could just do it manually with images in table cells and text and generating
your own thumbnails with a free program like IrFanview.

Thanks, Rob. Your solution would work fine and I'll probably just re-do the
thing when I get some spare moments. But I'm amazed that the gallery
component of FP is so darned awful that even inveterate FP denizens
essentially blow it off. I am now curioser and curioser as to how I might
solve the problem. If you have any ideas, I'll welcome them.

Because it's unpredictable, on some servers there seems to be a limit to how
many photos can be in it, what's the number?,,,30, 100 dunno...I've hit the
invisible wall several times but cannot tell you what the number is.

The solution...dunno...most don't spend much time trying to suss it
out..they just move on to something more flexible.
