Gantt Bars not displaying in Color

Willard

I have played around with a couple of different options
with setting up the Gantt Chart bars, but the color does
not show on screen, or print.

Interestingly, the arrows connecting tasks show the color
I have selected, but the actual bars show as grey (with
whichever background pattern displayed).

Ideas?

The order of the bars in the format barstyles dialog box determines the
order in which they are drawn.
To get to that dialog box go to format menu and select barstyles.

To illustrate this imagine the following small set of bar formats. The first
row is for all normal tasks and is a wide blue bar (kind of like the
default)
Now if you create a second row which is for all tasks as well and is a wide
grey bar you will see that the blue bar no longer appears. Changing the blue
bar to red or purple or any other color will not make it show up as it is
BEHIND the grey bar. If you create a third bar (also wide in style) it will
overwrite the bars beneath it.

So given this, take a look at the barstyles which are defined and see if you
have a later bar which is overwriting an earlier one.

You may find that this behavior is a pain, but it is actually quite useful
and with some thought you can create some very useful composite bar styles.
