gantt chart; duration/date times don't match

Using Project Standard 2007 and utilizing the Gantt chart. When I put my
dates in for the duration of start/finish time that people will be gone the
duration time is wrong. For example I need 120 days so I put in Jun 2 - Sep
30 but it automatically puts in 87 days under the duration tab. Any help
would be appreciated, thank you.

121 days = 17 weeks plus 2 days= 85 days of a 5 day work week +2 = 87
working days, that's what duration is measured in.

So I should be able to make it 7 days a week as a work week instead of a 5
day work week. I've tried but to no avail to change it.

What can't you change?

If you change the calendar to represent a 7 day working week then it
will work

The other option is to enter your task as 120 ed (where the 'e' means
elapsed). It really depends on how you are going to use this plan.
