Download Font Nuke and see if clearing your font caches helps.

Diane, the garbled email continues after using Font Nuke. I checked my wife's email (she's on the same listserv; uses IMac w/OS 10.4.11) and message was clear.

I'm unclear as to where you're seeing the garbled text. I used a
BlackBerry for 2 years and never had a garbled email from it ever. All
email sent from it appeared in my sent mail folder on Entourage fine.
All email to me came into the BlackBerry fine unless there was
something wrong with the sender's message. As a test, leave your email
on your pop server and run Apple's mail and let the email come down to
that and see if its garbled. If it is then its something wrong in the
sender's message. If it isn't then I guess there is something wrong in
Entourage but I've never seen this and I have been using Entourage for
7 years. Finally, if the garbled message is only on the BlackBerry
check with your vendor ISP on the routing BIS server but again I never
had an issue with the BlackBerry in 2 years.

The script did not change the message to make it readable. When I receive the message, there are a subject and a recipient listed (they are not blank).

The garbled messages are coming in from other users to a listserv that does not have a visible moderator - at least I have not heard from anyone in the past two weeks; I do not receive the messages directly from the original sender. I replied directly to garbled messages from three different users - two stated they were using new PDAs in the field (both BlackBerry devices) and replied using a home computer; the third has yet to respond, but her information on my wife's email states "message sent from my BlackBerry."

I have set the Apple Mail program and will look for posts that from the three senders there before opening Entourage - may be a few days since we had some bad weather today...

Yeah, good move on the Apple mail as this will help isolate this.
Honestly, I really doubt this is anything to do with the BlackBerrys.
If the messages aren't garbled on Apple Mail then its Entourage and
you'll have to do some digging as to why - they render differently. If
they are garbled on Apple Mail you'll still have to do some digging.
Ask thos BlackBerry users to take the same message, if you know who
they are, and send the same message to you directly and not the
listserv. If the message is fine then its the listserv. If its not
well you see where I'm going. You have to keep digging by trying to
isolate. I can tell you this with the BlackBerry all models send mail
identically as they either come through a BIS or BES server. Let me
know what you uncover as I'm very interested in this one.

This is a Microsoft bug, not a RIM bug. Other email clients display the email fine as does webmail. Maybe we'll see a fix in the new Outlook for Mac 2011?
