Generate consecutive numbers

Hi, i'm having a little trouble trying to generate unique consecutiv
numbers in Excel XP. This is what i have to do, say i've entered al
these details as a job, calling it job 1, then when i enter some mor
jobs i want it to automatically put 2 when i enter the data in a Form
is this possible or am i asking the spreadsheet to do more than it
capable of. I want it similar to in access when it automatically put
the next consecutive number after you have entered data. i no it sound
conufuzing, but thats the best way i could put it!

You could insert this into row 1:

=IF(B1="","",ROW())

assuming your job entries are in col. B, and copy the
formula down as far as needed.
