Generic resource updates

Using managed timeperiods, how do we update Generic
resources? Such as just closing the task out instead of
switching the task to a real resource?

Susan:

It depends on the result you want: You could simply remove the work and
remove the resource or you could turn off managed time periods long enough
to mark the tasks complete in Project, to name a couple approaches.

When I took the resource off, and typed in an actual
finish date, it gave me the sync actuals message. Any
thoughts on how I can get around this without turning
managed time periods off?
