Genuine advantage problem

As everyone else has stated with a genuine advantage "problem" - I am being
accused of having illegal software and therefore unable to update my programs.
My questions are: If we can't update our software through microsoft how
will that affect my ability to use the software? AND is there any 3rd party
or a way around this hoax by microsoft to make us buy more of their "valid
software" at a very high price I might add?

If you don't like it, then don't use their software. You can use OpenOffice
instead which is free. It is an Open Source productivity product which has a
word processor, spreadsheet, and presentation programs.

I am having the same problem after installing the latest Windows
updates, I don't see an ActiveX dialog box or the Internet Explorer Info
Bar and receive this massage "Your Web browser may not be configured to
run the components or scripts required by the validation tool. Try using
this alternate method." when I try the alternate method I get into a loop.

Try this -

1. Open your web browser
2. Go to Tools > Options and set the Security level on the security tab to
LOW.
3. try to run the updates

If that works, great. If not, we'll have to see what else might be wrong.
AND, do NOT browse to any sites during this time and make sure to RESET your
security level back to Medium or above after attempting this.
