Are you both working with Microsoft Exchange as your mail server?

If you are a delegate on his calendar go to Tools - E-
mail accounts - click on Next - Microsoft Exchange Server
should be highlighted so click on Change - click on More
Settings - go to the Advanced tab - click on Add and then
enter in your boss' name. Follow the prompts back to
your Outlook.

Assuming the boss has granted you Calendar access, you should be able to use the File | Open | Other User's Folder command.
