Get "Page cannot be displayed" error when you follow a hyperlink

In Powerpoint 2002 we are getting a message "Page cannot
be displayed" error when we follow a hyperlink to a
PowerPoint Presentation. This is only on some users
workstations with Windows XP. I found an article in the
Microsoft Knowledge Base - 310409 - PPT2002: "Page Cannot
Be Displayed" Error when you follow a hyperlink to a
PowerPoint Presentation. It says this may be caused
because PowerPoint does not accept and pass user
authentication information to the Web Server when it
requests the file. This problem it says only occurs on
Web sites on which the Anonymous option is disabled. Our
IIS Server has "Allow Anonymous access" enabled
and "Allow IIS to control password". This only happens
with PowerPoint 2002 files. We are able to get ftp
download the first slide but when it goes to the second
slide that is when we get the message page cannot be
displayed. It tries to go to the server instead of
downloading the file to the local drive. Thanks for any
help anyone can give me.
