How do I deactivate the automatic "GETPIVOTDATA" function when referencing a cell in a pivot table?

There is a button on the Pivot Table Toolbar that will toggle this feature
on/off. It look slike a small square spreadsheet with an arrow coming up
diagonally from the bottom right hand corner. Hover over it and it will say
'Generate GetPivotData'
