Getting applications (including FP) to remember window size

It used to be that if I closed a Windows office application, it would
remember the size of the window and restart at that size. If I re-sized the
window and closed the application, it would remember that. Now, in the new
world of Windows2000 that seems to have gone away. I am not hopping from 1
userid to another. And the userid is an adminstrator class id.

Would someone point out to me the key word(s) I have been missing when
trying the help function?

These settings are saved / remembered in a location in the registry named Streams and
StreamsMRU.
It's possible they have become corrupt.

Go here: http://www.hoverdesk.net/freeware.htm and download and run the free RegSeeker.
Click Histories and then click Clean StreamMRU/Stream Keys.

This will restore everything to default and then Windows will remember your new settings.
