My users periodically get an "application-defined or object-defined
error" when trying to save a spreadsheet -- no error # is ever
displayed. The only constant is that the spreadsheet has already been
saved and named, and has been open for some time. However, "some time"
can vary from about 15 minutes to over 4 hours. Also, a failed save
with that message sometimes occurs only a few minutes after a
successful save. In all other respects the error seems to be random.
My users can usually save the spreadsheet as a new doc, but that's not
a good solution for us due to the number of people in different
departments who may need access and have to be informed of the
spreadsheet's new name.
We're using Excel 2002, Windows NT (XP), and DOCS Open, and run in
Citrix. (DOCS Open isn't aware of any issues.)
