Getting error when importing csv file into Access

Hello
I am using Access 2002 and trying to import a csv file
into Access...I even saved it as an excel file after the
1st importing didn't work but I still get the error
message that Access encountered an error and needs to
close...I don't even get as far as the importing text
file wizard...

The file when opened in Excel 2002 shows MCAT information
for students applying for MED School...
Fields are Month (ie: Aug)...Year (2002)...Last
Name...First Name...SSN/SIN...BirthDate (6/16/1982)and
Scores for the MCAT tests...

Any ideas on how to import this data into an Access table
without getting an error and Access shutting down every
time!!??
