Getting rid of Office Shortcut Bar

How do I get rid of the Office Shortcut Bar? It keeps
popping up whenever I hover near it. I have Windows 2000.

Open it, select Close, and say "no" when prompted if you want it to start
the next time you start windows.

figured it out with the brain I got from the Wizard of Oz.

Seems you might have it on 'auto hide' which means it is

out of the way until you want it. Then you bring it
onscreen by moving the cursor to the side of the screen
where it is located and it 'pops up'. The alternative I
think is to have the bar permanently displayed thus
reducing the size of the main window.(ie NOT on 'auto hide)
