Getting rid of re-assigned tasks

This may be a simple issue and addressed somewhere else, but I have
reassigned tasks from one resource to another, yet the task still appears in
the old resource's web access task list, albeit with an "x" next to it.

This is confusing for my resources. How do I completely un-associate a task
from a resource so that it doesn't appear anywhere in their task list?

Hello John,

Before reassigning a task to another resource, you must set the remaining
work of the first resource to zero, then publish the change. After that, you
can assign a new resource.
For the canceled assignments which have an X , try this :

NB : Needs access to SQL Server
