Getting rid of the evil border

When I print two pages per sheet in Publisher, it always prints a black
border around each page - how can I make it stop?

It is the 2003 version.

The article didn't cover the problem I'm having, no.

If I create a two page document in Publisher and then in the print options
select 'print two pages per sheet', it automatically creates a black border
around each of the pages on the printout.

I can see no way of making it stop :(

Have you checked all your printer settings? Is your printer driver current? I
cannot duplicate this with my HP printers. Do the lines show up in print
preview?

I had some problems early on with lines appearing with a custom size, HP
recommended the *Best* print, the lines disappeared.

If you print to a PDF do you get the border?
There are free PDF converters around, www.primopdf.com is mentioned here often.

Printer driver was updated by ICT just this week, as it happens. I've been
through all the printer options and tested anything I thought might be it -
but nothing worked. This is the problem with not knowing the name of thing
you are trying to fix!

The lines aren't there on print preview, but I can't preview the 'two pages
per sheet' option. I downloaded the pdf creator you mentioned and when I
print to pdf, the lines are there again, both onscreen and on the printout.

The printer, if it's relevant, is a Xerox Phaser 8500. The option to print
two pages per sheet comes up as standard, rather than in the custom sizes
menu.

It does seem like the issue is with Publisher, if it's doing it with the
printer and the pdf creator, odd that no one else has it though :(

Thanks for your help :)

Changing the default didn't make any difference.

Thanks for the info abou the firmware upgrade, I shall pass it on to our ICT
dept and see if it helps.
