Getting rid of the Reading Layout in word

My Outlook keeps opening every word attachment in this annoying reading
layout, how do I stop it from doing so?

Absent the correct version of Word, for Word 2003, click Tools>Options.
Select the General tab and uncheck "Allow starting in Reading Layout"
