Getting rid of wavy underlines

I have WINXP Pro and Microsoft Word. My difficulty is getting rid of wavy
underlines to the text *permanently.*. I know they are indications of
allegely faulty spelling or grammar, and I can get rid of them in each
document by clicking Tools\Spelling and Grammar and then clicking Hide
Spelling Errors and Hide Grammatical errors but I have to do this *every
time* I create a document. How can I achieve this on a *permanent* basis so
that this is the default mode for Word?

Tools | Language | Set Language | Do not check spelling or Grammar.

Bear in mind that this will only hild the wavy lines on your machine.
If you send the document to someone else, depending upon what their
settings are, they will still see the wavy line. I hope this has been
