Getting rid of Windows Installer

Every time I run Word (the version from Works 2002), Windows Installer
starts up for some reason. I have to cancel it and wait for a while to
use Word. How do I stop Windows Installer from starting up? Thanks.

I have had the same problem for weeks with Works 7. It seems that
something triggers the damned thing off. You would think that Microsoft
would know how to do things right, but this problem disproves that
theory. If a fix doesn't come through soon, I will uninstall Word and
stick with alternate word processing programs.

You might do better posting in the Works NG, microsoft.public.works.win.

Try clicking on the executable (WinWord.exe) instead of the shortcut. If that works, delete your shortcuts and create new ones.
