No. You didn't violate any policies.
1 - You did however, use a title that was:
Identical to someone else's title which made your post look like a reply
to his and not a new question. Most people don't reply to replies, which is
one reason that you might not have gotten any replies.
2 - "Getting Started" is:
A - The name of another one of the Access groups. Which, BTW, might have
been a better group to ask your question in with. This group is for
off-the-wall questions that don't fit into one of the other 25 groups. When
posting, try to post into a group that is related to your question.
B - Generic titles like this have a tendency to be ignored no matter
which group they get posted in.
3 - These groups are supported by volunteers.
A - Any one that saw your post may not have had an answer. Which is a
another reason to post to a topic specific group. Of the group of volunteers
that frequent these groups, experts in a particular topic tend to only look
at one or two of the 25 groups. Rarely does anyone look at all 25.
4 - A little tip. When you re-post like this, it is nice to include your
original question. Because you added "second attempt" to your title, it
looked like a new post. It took me several minutes to find your original
post because it looked like a reply to someone else's post. Most of the
volunteers here wouldn't have even gone looking for your original post, so
this post had an even high probability of not getting answered.
With all of that said...
You might look in the template gallery at
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/templates/default.aspx to see if there is
something there that will work for you.
If not, from the sound of your question, I'm guessing that you are new to
databases in general. I'd start with a couple of books. For database design
issues, my favorite is "Database Design for Mere Mortals" by Michael
Hernandez. For learning Access, there are several good ones available. I'd
head out to you local bookstore and look for one that fits your personal
style. A couple of my favorites are the "Access 2002 Developer's Handbook"
(Last I heard, they are not going to come out with a 2003 version.) by Ken
Getz, et.al. from Sybex and "Microsoft Office Access 2003 Inside Out" by
John Viescas from Microsoft Press.
If you are afraid of committing a newsgroup transgression, take a look at
http://www.mvps.org/access/netiquette.htm.
Good luck.
