Getting SWF files to rewind

D

Dave G.

I managed to get my swf files into PPT but once they run the remain at the
end of the movie (stalled on the last frame) even if I close and open the PPT
file. Does anyone know if there is something that has to be included in the
SWF file to get it to reset? Is there a way in PPT to do that?
I've inserted the swf files both in the way MS recommends(shockwave object)
and using the PFC Media plug in.
Thanks

Using the PFC Media add in is definitely easier than the hand-coded method.
So you are on the right track there. But because of the way PPT interfaces
with shockwave it does not allow the coding to recognize the end, or more
specifically restart the file, as it simply loops endlessly.

The solution is to download and install the free "flashback" add-in that
Shyam created. It works perfect and should solve the issue you see. Note, it
is a system based solution, so if the presentation is distributed unless
that computer has the flashback add-in installed the .swf will loop
endlessly. Get it here: http://skp.mvps.org/flashback.htm
