Getting text that is not part of the page number to show in the TO

I have a two-part document (Part A and Part B) and have set the page numbers
and outline numbers to start at the beginning of each part. Now, I want the
page numbers to appear on the page as A-1, A-2, etc. I can, of course, get
the letters to appear in the footer just ahead of the page number itself, but
I want the same page numbering in the TOC. I can't figure out how to make
this work and would appreciate any help I can get on this subject.

To get the double-barrelled page numbers to appear in the TOC you need to
use the 'Include chapter number' setting in the page number format dialog
(where you set the page starting number).

If you already use a built-in numbered heading style for the Part A and Part
B headings you should be able to use that without further work. If not
you'll have to set up an otherwise unused heading style with the correct
numbering, and then hide it on the part start page somewhere.
