"Ghost" version?

I'm trying to delete a ".Published" project both using PWA and the PSCleaner
utility in the PS 2003 Resource Kit. There is no other version of the same
Project. PSCleaner simply fails to delete the file while PWA explains I
can't delete it nefore I delete all non-published versions of the file.
There really aren't any! Suggestions please?
