Giving access to Macros for all users of a terminal server

T

test

We have a group of users on a terminal server that currently are using
Word 2007 to write and create PDFs. I would like to give them access
to a Word tempate that has 2 macros in it. I do not want to change the
normal.dotm because each writer may have some personnal settings set
differently.

Also, they currently use a particular template to create their Word
docs which I also don't want to modify.

Is there a way to have Word use 2 templates with Word, or somehow
point to the 2 Word macros in my normal.dotm.

This is a large team and it would take time to get agreement on
changing existing templates to add 2 macros to it.

Thanks!

You can put the template with the macros into the STARTUP folder, which will make the macros available in all documents.

If each user has a separate profile, then each one has a STARTUP folder, by default at %appdata%\Microsoft\Word\Startup. (There's another one at C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\Startup, but
that one isn't a "trusted location", so to use that you'd have to digitally sign the macro projects.) It's probably simplest to use the Options > File Locations dialog to change each user's Startup
folder to one that's common for all users on the server; or you can arrange a login script to copy the template to each user's Startup folder.
