Glitch in OUtlook 2007? Emails are disappearing.

D

deborah

Been struggling with this for 3 weeks. There is truly something wrong with my
Outlook 2007. I have installed this on a new laptop. Have 2003 on my old
laptop. Emails are just disappearing into thin air. For ex, I received an
email from somebody yesterday and replied. Both the original email and the
reply are not in their folders. They are not in the inbox, sent folder or
deleted folder. I have not deleted anything for 2 weeks in order to track
things.

So where did these emails go? I have indicated to save emails to the
server. Some are saved, some not. All very arbitrary.

Please explain this- if somebody can. I think there is a major glitch in
this program. Nothing makes sense. Help?? BTW- running XP

Check your Views and check your Archive options
'Save to the server'? dont you mean keep a copy on the server?

Have done everything possible. Have adjusted views, have told it not to
archive anything. And yes, told it to leave copy on server and it's not
doing that. don't need to use advanced find because I'm checking manually.
But don't know where to find advanced find. it's all very frustrating.

Click ctrl+shift+f - you'll use the general tab. If you remember part of the
subject, search on it, otherwise search on the persons address. Set the in
folders list the top level and check the box to search all folders (top
right of dialog)

That's great. Never knew about advanced find. But the messages weren't there
either.

Vanishing emails are often caused by AntiVirus applications that are setup
to scan email, are you running one?
