Global Address Book without Exchange?

I have a network of 30 XP Pro PCs and a server running Server03 Standard.
All machines are running Outlook 03 for e-mail. Our e-mail is hosted by an
outside vendor.
My question is: Is it possible to set up a global address book for our
company without running Exchange?
If this is not possible, then is there any way to use a global address book
and still keep my outside e-mail vendor?
Lastly, for a company my size, would it worthwile to host my own e-mail
server? Is it more headaches than it's worth?

Thanks,
Greg

If you are running an Active Directory domain, then you have a way of
supplying a centralized address book. More or less, you would use Outlook's
LDAP address book.

As for the other questions, too difficult to tell since we don't know what
issue(s) you are trying to solve other than having a centralized directory
to look up names, addresses, e-mail addresses, and phone numbers.
