Global IME not typing Japanese in Internet Explorer

Need help!! I continue to be frustrated with this problem.

I cannot type japanese characters in IE 6!

I have Office XP on a Windows 98 system.

Loaded the appropriate Global IME and ie_ja.exe

Setup the handwriting and speech in AUIs.

It works in Outlook but now IE. Please help!!!!
