Global.mpt file question Project 2003

Goofy

I'm tearing my hair out here. I want to know how to specifically point my
launched project to use a particular Global.mpt.

Can anyone help ?

Hi,

Yes.

I run at least 10 global.mpt files (one for each customer..)
I use either of the following 2 methods:

When you start Project by opening a file, and there is a Global.mpt in the
same directory as the started file, that's the one Project will use.

Or

I simply double-click the desired global to open Project. It tells you twice
it can't be done (why???) but it works: Project is open with that global.

Hope this helps,

And you want ahead and opened it anyway, after being told twice you
can't! See how ya are? If it weren't so politically incorrect, I'd call
you a stubborn Dutchman! :)

Thanks guys. I wonder if it is possible to set up a desktop shortcut to do
this like a parameter following the winproj.exe

Cheers

Hi,

Yes, create a shortcut to an empty file in the directory pf your global.
Never start MS project as such, always start by a shortcut.
