Global.mpt is corrupt.

My global.mpt seems to be corrupt. MSP crashes when loading from the
global.mpt. I have made some changes to macros, so it would be valuable to me
if I could recover the global.mpt

Any help is much appreciated

Rename the global file.
Start Project. Project will create a new, blank Global.
File, Open and open the old global. If this works use the Organizer (under
Tools menu) to copy your macros. If it doesn't you've probably lost them.
