Global.mpt

I cannot get global.mpt to load. I've tried deleting the file and repairing
as suggested but still it doesn't work. I tried reinstalling it, tired
uninstaling and reinstalling, tried editing registry keys, tried creating a
new path for global.mpt -- still doesn't work. It works on 2 other computers
-- the only difference is that I had recently downloaded the demo version of
Microsoft Project available on the website. I uninstalled the demo version
and installed my licensed version. Is my problem related?

Hi Perl,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

Don't know :( Have you tried a search for global.mpt, to include hidden and
system files? It could be that you have more than one copy that keeps
rearing its ugly head!

FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at
this web address: <http://www.mvps.org/project/>

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :))

Thanks for your response. There are 2 global.mpt files one in 1033 folder in
the program files and the other in the 1033 folder in documents and
settings/application data, etc. The only other file that came up was a
global.mpt_1033 in c:\MSOCache\All users|...

Any other thoughts?

H Perl,

Try renaming them all to global1.mpt, 2 & 3... Then open Project.
