Global Object ID on Appointments in Outlook?

S

Scott McBurney

Ok, there doesn't seem to be any useful documentation anywhere on
this....so....

What is the difference beween these two fields on MAPI appointments?

{6ED8DA90-450B-101B-98DA-00AA003F1305}
lID=0x0023
and
lID=0x003

When they both have values, they always seem to be the same. However,
depending on the version of outlook, 23 always seems to have a value, and 3
sometimes has a value, and sometimes doesn't.

I have found this article, http://support.microsoft.com/?id=899919
which talks about 3, but doesn't say anything about 23.

Can anyone explain what 23 and 3 really are? Is there any documentation on
both of them anywhere?

I'm not sure what the difference is but 0x03 is the GlobalObjectID and 0x23
is the CleanGlobalObjectID. I've used 0x23 myself. Other than that KB I
don't know of any docs on this new property.
