Global Search and Replace in Contacts Field

Is it possible to do a search and replace in the Contacts Mobile Phone field?

I presentlyhave mobile phones numbers saved in the format 04xxxxxxxx and
would like to do a global search for 04 and replace with +614.

Then my mobile numbers would be stored as +614xxxxxxxx

Why, you ask? Because my mobile phone PDA will be able to send SMS messages
from anywhere in the world.

You can export the contacts to Excel and use its find and replace or write
code to do that. You can also see if the PhoneChanger addin can do it for
you (http://www.slovaktech.com/phonechanger.htm).
