Gmail and Entourage sync

I have set up my Entourage account with Gmail. The emails have duplicated, but gone into a separate mailbox, as opposed to the 'my computer' one. Is this simply the way it works? I would prefer to have my mail go into the inbox so I can sort etc and link to my projects etc. Do I need a different email?

Any clues on set-up? Thanks in advance

This is the nature of IMAP accounts. They are self-contained with their
own Inbox, Sent Items, Deleted Items, etc.

To avoid duplicates you should delete your POP account to your Gmail
account.
