can anyone assist me in making a Golf Start List programme?
each day i need to enter some 150 players in groups of 3 or 4 at tee off
times from 0800hrs and at 8min intervals thereafter. the problem is entering
the handicaps. each person has their own (changing) handicap, however as each
course is graded for dificulty (called Slope) we need to refer to a table to
find the players handicap for each course. we have two courses, north and
south. the differnce is set in a list. so if a 10.4 handicap player plays the
south he is given a playing handicap of say, 11.5 for the south cours and
say, 9.6 for the north course.
at the end i need a list to put on the board showing all the groups playing
and list their handicap for the Day /(course). some of the games we play ask
us to add all four playing members handicaps together and divide by 4 (or
10%) etc.
if anyone can assist 150 members will be eternally grateful

Michael:

This was answered in your post yesterday at 8:41. You even replied and
thanked the poster. If you do not understand that response or need further
details, you should go post to that thread.

If you perfer to post a brand new thread, at least explain what you have
done so far. In the previous answer someone spent a great deal of their
time coming up with a table structure for you. Did you use it? Did you run
into specific questions?

I'm sure that Ed did not spend all that time and effort responding to you
only to hope that you would ignore his advice.

.. Dear Rick
many thanks and my apologies for not answering completly. i am very new to
the database design, I am reading a programming book, that seems to be the
answer to those who cannot sleep. i keep waking up with the book on the
floor. its extremly interesting but a bit too technical. i was hoping to get
a sample working database that i could 'adjust' instead of programming. once
again thank you for your time and attention to my request. i will persevere
with Eds assistance

Michael,
Don't feel bad, you have nothing to apologize for. Honest mistakes happen.
I've been on these groups for many many years and there never seems to be a
shortage of people who think they are the World's Gift to M$ Apps.
I happen to be MASTER certified in Office, but I'm still a novice when it
comes to Access programming and advanced development. If you're reading one
of those 8 pound third-party books-- no wonder you fall asleep - they are
the pits!

All I can reccomend is go slow, think through all your objects and intended
user interface steps logically. You'll be amazed at how it starts to come
together.

Good luck with the golf thing.
